The Role

As an Audit Manager, you will play a key leadership role within the audit and assurance team, managing a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of sectors.

Working closely with directors and audit fieldwork teams, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality audit assignments, ensuring work is completed efficiently, within agreed deadlines, and in line with professional standards. This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to contribute to service line development, business growth, tendering opportunities and the continued success of the audit function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a growing portfolio of audit clients across a range of sectors
  • Lead the delivery of high-quality audit assignments within agreed timelines and budgets
  • Plan audits, assess risks and develop tailored audit programmes alongside senior stakeholders
  • Ensure all audit work complies with relevant regulatory and professional standards
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing excellent client service
  • Manage audit budgets, billing and recoveries to achieve performance targets
  • Coach, mentor and develop junior team members, providing constructive feedback and guidance
  • Support continuous improvement of audit processes and quality standards
  • Work closely with directors on business development, tendering and growth initiatives
About You
  • ACA or ACCA qualified with a strong background in UK accountancy practice
  • Previous audit management experience within a professional services environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards
  • Proven client-facing experience with excellent relationship management skills
  • Experience managing audit portfolios and leading audit teams
  • Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Experience using audit software, ideally My Work papers
  • Self-motivated, commercially aware and committed to delivering high-quality work
