PART-TIME ACCOUNTANT / BOOKKEEPER
Location:
Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Hours:
2–3 days per week, Monday–Friday
Salary: £16k - £25k Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications
The Role:Working closely with management, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth running of our financial operations.
- Day-to-day bookkeeping and maintenance of financial records
- Purchase and sales ledger management
- Processing supplier invoices and customer invoices
- Bank reconciliations
- Monitoring outstanding invoices and supporting credit control
- Managing supplier accounts
- VAT preparation and supporting VAT returns
- Payroll administration and associated records
- Producing regular financial reports for management
- Assisting with month-end procedures
- Monitoring cash flow and outstanding balances
- Maintaining accurate and organised financial records
- Liaising with customers, suppliers and external accountants where required
- Supporting management with general financial and administrative tasks
We are looking for someone who is experienced, organised and commercially minded, with the confidence to take ownership of the company's day-to-day bookkeeping and accounts function.
Essential:- Minimum AAT Level 3 qualification
- Previous experience in an accounts/bookkeeping role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good knowledge of bookkeeping and financial processes
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Strong communication skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- AAT Level 4 qualification
- Experience working within an SME environment
- Experience with payroll, VAT and credit control
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage or Quick Books
- Previous experience working within the security, construction or service industries
- Part-time working pattern of 2–3 days per week
- Monday–Friday working hours
