Management Accountant
Salary:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant to join a well-established UK manufacturing business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on finance professional who is confident working independently and taking ownership of the day‑to‑day accounts function. You will work closely with management, providing accurate financial information and supporting key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts
, including P&L and balance sheets - Produce debtor, creditor and wider management information reports
- Manage and oversee sales and purchase ledger processes
- Take responsibility for credit control and debtor management
- Monitor outstanding balances and improve debtor days and cash collection
- Complete bank reconciliations and month-end accounting duties
- Prepare and process Sage payroll/wage runs
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date financial records
- Provide financial information and analysis to senior management
- Identify and resolve discrepancies and accounting issues
- Use Excel extensively for reporting, analysis and financial control
- Support the smooth running of the wider finance function
We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant or all‑round accounts professional with a strong practical understanding of finance and the confidence to take ownership of the accounts function.
You will ideally have:
- Strong experience preparing monthly management accounts
- Hands‑on experience across sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control
- Previous Sage experience, including Sage payroll/wages
- Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills
- Experience with reconciliations and month‑end processes
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with senior management
- Previous manufacturing experience would be advantageous but is not essential
- Relevant accounting qualifications are desirable but hands‑on experience is the key requirement
