Vehicle Technician - Wakefield
We are looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join the growing team at our BYD Dealership in Wakefield. You will be responsible for carrying out advanced diagnostics, repairs, and routine servicing across a range of vehicles, including modern electric and hybrid models.
Essentials (You Must Have)- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician in a similar workshop environment.
- Strong fault-finding abilities and experience carrying out complex repairs.
- A customer-focused approach and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
- Full valid driving licence
- Carry out advanced vehicle diagnostics, repairs, servicing, and software-based fault finding in line with manufacturer and factory standards.
- Complete thorough vehicle inspections, accurately identifying faults and recommending additional work.
- Clearly communicate technical issues and repair requirements to customers in a professional and approachable manner.
- Ensure all work complies with company policies, manufacturer specifications, and industry regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workshop environment in accordance with health and safety standards, including safe working practices around modern vehicle systems.
- Oversee servicing, repairs, and parts replacement, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and customer satisfaction is achieved.
- A Level 3 IMI qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication will be essential, particularly when liaising with Service Advisors and customers to explain work required.
- Leadership skills, with the ability to support a team of technicians.
- An interest in modern vehicle technologies, including electric and hybrid systems.
- Experience working with electric or hybrid vehicles would be advantageous.
