What

You’ll Do
  • As an Assistant QS, you’ll work on a variety of projects across Yorkshire and the North East reporting directly to a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.
  • The role is primarily site‑based and provides commercial support to the project teams on all projects for which they are responsible.
  • You will ensure that projects are administered effectively and that business objectives in terms of commercial targets and customer focus are achieved with the support of the commercial team.
What We’re Looking For Skills and Experience
  • Proven commercial experience working for a main contractor.
  • Familiarity with JCT/NEC/ contracts.
  • Knowledge of current construction law.
  • Experience in commercial management.
  • Experience in procurement of subcontractors, measurement and control cycle, certificates and accrual calculations.
  • Good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.

  • Strong management skills.
  • Ability to motivate self and colleagues to achieve high standards of compliance.
  • Good operational planning and time‑management skills.
