Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established contractor specialising in Mechanical & Electrical, Fit Out and Construction projects across the UK.

Working within the M&E division, you will take responsibility for the commercial delivery of M&E projects from pre-construction through to final account.

Projects range from £100k to £10m across the retail, commercial, industrial, leisure and hospitality sectors, offering excellent variety and long-term career development opportunities.

The Role

Joining an established business, you will work closely with operational teams to manage the commercial delivery of Mechanical & Electrical projects from award through to final account.

You will be responsible for maintaining commercial control across multiple live projects, producing accurate reporting and supporting successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing project costs from inception through to final account
  • Preparing valuations, variations and applications for payment
  • Producing cost reports and financial forecasts
  • Procuring subcontractor and supplier packages
  • Negotiating subcontractor accounts and final settlements
  • Managing change control and variations
  • Supporting project teams with commercial and contractual matters
  • Building and maintaining strong client and supply chain relationships
Requirements
  • Quantity Surveying experience within an M&E or Building Services environment
  • Experience managing valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Strong understanding of subcontractor procurement and account management
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • COINS experience advantageous but not essential
  • Relevant construction or Quantity Surveying qualification beneficial but not essential
