Mears provides temporary accommodation to asylum seekers whilst their claim is being assessed in three regions:
Northeast, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. At the end of May 2021 Mears had over 19000 service users across the three regions. Mears work in partnership with central and local Government, registered providers, tenants, landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs.

Due to contract expansion, we are looking at recruiting a supervisor to join our team here in Wakefield. You will be part of a local team supporting the supervision activities and requirements of our Housing operations, ensuring all supervisory procedures are being undertaken efficiently in compliance with Company operating procedures, deliver best in class customer service, whilst satisfying all safety, quality and cost control standards relating to budget, profitability and resource deployment.

The main role will be to oversee the repairs and maintenance contract, checking in on subcontractors and inspections of void properties.

• Conduct pre- and post-inspections on internal and external tenanted properties
• Inspect works at height including doors, windows, and snagging on scaffolding
• Supervise and coordinate tradespeople and subcontractors across multiple work streams
• Oversee planned, cyclical, and responsive repairs to ensure timely and high-quality delivery
• Ensure all works meet industry standards and building regulations
• Log works and generate reports using PDA systems and Excel
• Provide excellent customer care and resolve issues professionally
• Monitor productivity, resource allocation, and contract profitability
• Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality, and compliance
• Compile management reports on operational activities and performance
• Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols and company operating procedures
