Lemon Drizzle Recruitment is working with an established and growing civil engineering contractor based in Teesside to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
The role will sit within their residential civils division, taking commercial responsibility for a portfolio of infrastructure and groundworks projects for major house builders across Yorkshire.

You will be predominantly office-based in Wakefield, with regular visits to your projects across Doncaster, Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Hull.
What you'll be doingYou will take commercial responsibility for multiple residential civils projects, working closely with operational teams and clients to ensure projects are delivered successfully and commercially.
- Managing multiple projects of varying values and complexity
- Preparing and maintaining accurate project budgets and forecasts
- Managing client accounts from commencement through to final account
- Preparing and submitting monthly applications for payment
- Identifying, valuing and managing variations
- Managing change control throughout the project lifecycle
Producing CVRs and providing accurate commercial reporting - Managing project risk and commercial opportunities
- Working closely with site teams to monitor progress, costs and resources
- Procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers
- Attending monthly project and commercial meetings
- Undertaking detailed commercial analysis and reporting
- Building strong working relationships with clients and internal teams
Projects will predominantly involve residential infrastructure, roads, sewers, drainage, earthworks and associated groundworks packages.
What are we looking for?We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who understands the commercial management of civil engineering or groundworks projects.
Ideally you will have:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within groundworks, civil engineering or residential infrastructure
- Experience managing your own projects commercially
- A good understanding of JCT, NEC and/or bespoke residential contracts
- Strong knowledge of valuations, variations, CVRs and final accounts
- The ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with clients and operational teams
- A Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management qualification would be advantageous
- Full UK driving licence
- £45,000 - £65,000, depending on experience
