About The Role
Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is pleased to offer an opportunity to a motivated individual to continue the success of this role. The Breast Fellow post will work within our tertiary plastic surgery breast reconstruction unit that offers all aspects of breast reconstruction including a busy and growing microsurgical service. We perform approximately 80 free flaps reconstructions. The post will have an opportunity to work within the on-site breast unit that offers exposure to breast oncology and oncoplastic techniques.
This post will be a combination of training, research, educational input and service delivery within the specialty. The post is for a fixed term of 6 months. There is scope for extension at the discretion of the department pending funding approval and satisfactory progression. The Trust reserves the right to close this vacancy early should a significant number of applications be received.

- Provision of care with responsibility for the management of patients with acute and chronic conditions including complex cases.
- Referral of patients to other specialities as appropriate.
- Out-patient activities/clinics.
- Involvement in specialty and cross-specialty multi-disciplinary teams and meetings.
- Involvement in relevant administration duties.
- Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and other clinicians as appropriate.
- Active involvement in audit and clinical governance including service improvement activities.
- Full GMC Registration with licence to practice.
- Medical Degree from recognised medical school.
- MRCS or recognised equivalent.
- Successful completion of post registration training.
- FRCS Plast or equivalent.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Minimum experience equivalent to ST8 in Plastic Surgery (10 years full-time post-graduate training or part-time equivalent).
- Proven experience in acute hospital setting.
- Sound knowledge and experience in the management of critically ill patients.
- At least 6 months recent experience in the NHS.
- Evidence of an interest in Audit and Research.
- Demonstrates intelligent and analytical approach to problem solving.
- Possesses good communication skills.
