About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated doctor, to join our Plastic Surgery Department from October 2026 for a 12-month period. This is a fixed term post to cover a deanery registrar gap at 50% LTFT.
This post is not a recognised UK training post; however, the post-holder will have a named educational and clinical supervisor. We will tailor the post to suit individual’s training requirements and will combine education, research and career development. For less experienced trainees we will help trainees to achieve required competences for national selection at ST3 level. More senior trainees will be given the opportunity to develop their skills in their chosen sub-specialties.
Our registrar rota is a 1:8 on call rota. During their tenure, the post-holder will cover a 50% daytime and on call deanery gap on this rota.
An Introduction to the Division/Specialty

We are passionate about teaching and training. We encourage our residents to actively participate in developing their teaching and training components of their portfolios.
These posts will be part of our 1:8 Registrar level trainee on call rota, which is compliant with working time regulations and the 2016 resident doctor’s contract.
