About Us
Our SEMH school in Wakefield is committed to providing a nurturing, supportive, and inclusive environment that meets the individual needs of every student. We specialise in helping pupils with complex SEMH needs and behavioural difficulties, offering personalised interventions and trauma‑informed approaches. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be part of a collaborative and passionate team dedicated to improving students' wellbeing and educational outcomes.
The RoleAs an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who experience a range of emotional and behavioural challenges. Your responsibilities will include:

- Experience as an SEMH Teaching Assistant or in a similar role supporting students with SEMH or behavioural needs.
- Strong empathy, patience, and commitment to helping young people overcome social and emotional barriers.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build positive and trusting relationships.
- Adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a supportive team.
- Understanding of behaviour management approaches is advantageous, though full training will be provided.
- Competitive daily rate of £86-£110

A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection is essential. All successful applicants must complete an enhanced DBS check or be willing to apply for one.
