Are you a driven and compassionate SEN Teacher looking to positively shape the educational journey of pupils with additional needs?

GSL Education are seeking an SEN Teacher to join a nurturing and inclusive school in Wakefield. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed educator to support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development within a highly supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of SEND pupils.
  • Differentiate learning to support a wide range of abilities and educational requirements.
  • Foster confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours among pupils.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing targeted feedback to aid development.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and parents to ensure holistic support for each learner.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages pupil success.
Requirements for SEN Teacher
  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Strong classroom management, organisational, and communication skills.
  • A patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach to teaching.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
