Year 1​/2 Teacher - Part-Time; Long-Term

Location: Wakefield (WF2)

Start Date: Straight after the Easter Holidays

Working Pattern: Part-time, Wednesday to Friday (3 days per week)

Reed Education is recruiting for a strong, experienced, and confident Year 1/2 Teacher to join a well-regarded primary school in the Wakefield WF2 area. This long-term position will begin immediately after the Easter break and will run on a part-time basis covering Wednesday to Friday.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced KS1 teacher who is dedicated, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning. The successful candidate will teach a mixed Year 1/2 class and will be responsible for the full planning cycle. You will receive half a day of PPA time each week.

We are seeking a teacher who is:

• Fully qualified with recent experience teaching in Key Stage 1
• Confident in delivering engaging lessons to a mixed Year 1/2 class
• Skilled in planning, assessment, and meeting National Curriculum expectations
• Strong with behaviour management and able to maintain a purposeful learning environment
• Prepared to take on all usual teaching responsibilities in a long-term role
• A positive communicator who works well with colleagues, parents, and support staff

• Teach a mixed Year 1/2 class to a high standard
• Plan and prepare lessons, with half-day PPA allocation
• Complete marking and assessment requirements
• Work collaboratively within the KS1 team
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
• Contribute to wider school life as required
