Can you provide the support and care pupils with SEMH needs require flourishing in a calm, structured classroom.

GSL Education are recruiting a skilled and compassionate SEMH Teacher to work within an Alternative Provision (AP) school in Wakefield (WF4). This role is suited to a dedicated Teachers who can deliver meaningful learning experiences while supporting pupils with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs.

As an SEMH Teacher
, you will plan and deliver structured, engaging lessons that meet individual learning needs, helping students re-engage with education in a safe and supportive environment. The successful SEMH Teacher will play a pivotal role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and academic progress.

• Plan and deliver personalised lessons to meet SEMH needs.
• Create a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Work collaboratively with pastoral teams and support staff.
• Monitor progress and adapt learning approaches accordingly.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
