Job Description

Outwood Grange Academy (11‑19 academy in Wakefield) is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Maths to join our team.

Essential information
  • Salary: Main Pay Scale 1 to Upper Pay Scale 3.
  • Start Date: September 2026.
  • Hours: Flexible – full-time and part-time options are considered.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality learning in Maths using a variety of teaching strategies and assessment for learning (AfL) to improve student performance.
  • Use student performance data to identify areas for development and raise attainment.
  • Apply current curriculum developments and maintain high expectations for all students.
  • Communicate clearly with students and parents, both orally and in writing.
  • Collaborate with the department, sharing good practice and demonstrating creativity in problem solving.
Qualifications
  • Degree in an appropriate discipline related to Maths.
  • Teaching qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Recent and relevant teaching experience at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Confidence in using standard computer packages (word processing, email, spreadsheets) to support learning.
  • Professionalism, empathy with students, and awareness of safeguarding issues.
