Teaching Assistant Level 1 SEN
We currently have a number of opportunities for Teaching Assistant Level 1 SEN to join our fantastic team at Piper Hill High School. These are Grade 3, permanent posts working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days starting as soon as possible once pre-employment checks are completed. The pro‑rata salary is £22,004 and the full-time equivalent is £25,583.

Someone who understands the role of a Teaching Assistant, collaborates effectively with classroom professionals, and has basic knowledge of child development and learning. The right candidate will be committed to professional standards, continuously striving to maintain and enhance their knowledge and skills. A focus on teamwork and driving continuous improvement to support student success is required.
Main Purpose Of The JobTo be a part of a team providing exceptional education for students so that they become happy, confident adults. You will support teaching and learning across the school, providing general support in the management of pupils and resources, working under the supervision of the class teacher, department lead and senior leadership team.
Key Responsibilities- To work with small groups of children under the supervision of the teacher and ensure implementation of Individual Learning Plans.
- Provide regular feedback on children’s progress to the class teacher and keep records up to date.
- Assist with the supervision of discrete groups of pupils for short periods when the teacher is not present.
- Be aware of and support difference and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
- Participate in training, to develop relevant learning strategies and ensure students make progress in learning.
- To support the performance management process and demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development.
- To converse at ease and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
