Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
  • Enhanced DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS clearance registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Demonstrable knowledge of current UK exam board specifications for Social Sciences (GCSE and A-Level).
  • Eligibility to Work: Valid legal entitlement to work full-time in the UK.

  • Differentiation: Skill in adapting challenging academic texts and theories to match a wide range of learning abilities.
  • Digital Literacy: Proficiency in utilising interactive whiteboards, learning management platforms, and modern classroom technology.
  • Resilience: Ability to remain calm and solutions-focused within a fast-paced, high-demand secondary environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Inspiring Lessons: Plan, prepare, and teach engaging Social Sciences lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5, ensuring full coverage of the curriculum.
  • Promote Core Values: Model and cultivate the school's ethos of working hard, acting with kindness, and taking responsibility in all daily interactions.
  • Assess and Track Progress: Implement regular formative and summative assessments to accurately track student progress and intervene where necessary.

  • Support Diverse Needs: Differentiate teaching materials to ensure equality of opportunity and high challenge for all, including SEND and disadvantaged students.
