Teaching Assistant
- Young Offenders

Wakefield Pupil Referral Unit

£100 - £130 per day depending on experience

Salary is based on experience, training or qualifications.

Requirements
  • Be able to adapt to certain situations that can arise.
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff.
  • Experience working with Special Educational Needs.
  • The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is a minimum of 2 months relevant experience working with children, young people or adults.
The Role

Vision for Education’s specialist SEND department is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant
- Young Offenders to work with young people aged between 11 and 17 within a specialist school setting in Wakefield District.

This role supports vulnerable young learners who are no longer in mainstream education. The successful candidate will build relationships quickly, maintain a non‑judgemental mindset, and support the safeguarding and welfare of all students. All staff undergo thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or are prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
