SEMH Teacher - Wakefield

ASAP. Contract Type:
Full-time, Long-term. Rate: £160 - £230 per day (dependent on experience).
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm.
We are working with a specialist provision in Wakefield that supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a nurturing and structured environment where students are encouraged to develop both academically and personally.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated SEMH Teacher to make a real difference while working alongside a supportive and experienced team.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Support students with emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement.
- Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies where required.
- Work closely with support staff, parents/carers, and external professionals.
- Build positive relationships that promote confidence and resilience.
- QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience working with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills.
- A patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
- Experience in a specialist or alternative provision setting is desirable.
- Hold QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent qualification.
- Have the Right to Work in the UK.
- Hold an enhanced child DBS on the update service, or be willing to apply for one.
- Provide two professional child‑related references.
