Autism & SEMH Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? Do you have experience working with Autism, SEMH or challenging behaviour, or are you looking to begin a rewarding career in special education?

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist setting dedicated to supporting pupils with complex social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs alongside Autism and communication difficulties. The school is looking for a compassionate, resilient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team.

About the Role

As a Autism & SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapists to provide tailored support that enables pupils to achieve both academically and personally. Every day is different, and you’ll play a key role in helping students develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.

You will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

  • Autism
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • ADHD
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Emotional regulation and behavioural challenges
  • Moderate learning difficulties
