Pay Rate: £120 - £140 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are partnering with schools in Wakefield WF6 to recruit reliable Cover Supervisor (CS). This opportunity is well suited to confident individuals who can supervise lessons, maintain a positive learning environment, and ensure pupils remain engaged while teachers are absent. Whether you are considering a career in teaching or have previous classroom experience, this role offers valuable experience across a range of subjects.

The Cover Supervisor will oversee pre-planned lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and provide continuity in learning while supporting pupils in achieving their best.

Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-set lesson materials in the absence of the class teacher
• Maintain a positive, safe, and well-managed classroom environment
• Encourage pupils to remain focused and complete assigned work
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Provide guidance and support where appropriate without introducing new content
• Report on pupil engagement and behaviour at the end of each lesson

Cover Supervisor Requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting is desirable
• Confident communication and strong classroom management skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments and age groups
• Calm, professional, and resilient approach to managing behaviour
• Commitment to supporting pupils' learning and wellbeing
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
