Milk Education is working with a number of supportive and inclusive primary and secondary schools across Ossett and Wakefield who are looking to recruit dedicated Behaviour Support Workers
.

Whether your experience comes from education, youth work, care, sports coaching, mentoring, or residential support, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to promote engagement and wellbeing
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement tailored behaviour support plans
• Encourage confidence, resilience, independence, and positive decision-making
• Help pupils successfully access learning both inside and outside the classroom
• Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies
• Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive

We welcome applicants who have:

• Experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, mentoring, care, sports coaching, or similar settings
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Confidence supporting pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional needs
• A genuine passion for making a positive difference in young people's lives

Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential—we're looking for people with the right attitude, transferable skills, and commitment to supporting pupils.
