Justteachers is seeking a dedicated and experienced HLTA with a strong background in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wakefield. This full-time role is to start in September.
This nurturing and high-achieving primary school is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all pupils. The school has a strong focus on SEND provision, ensuring that every child receives the individual support they need to thrive. Key Responsibilities:- Work closely with teachers and SENDCo to support pupils with additional needs
- Deliver targeted interventions to support learning and development
- Assist with planning and delivering lessons, covering classes when required
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND
- Implement EHCP (Education, Health & Care Plan) strategies to support pupil progress
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies
HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND in a primary school setting
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to working with children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
- Availability to start after Easter and commit until at least July (with potential for a permanent role in September)
