An established manufacturing business is seeking a hands‑on Electrical Maintenance Team Leader to join its site‑based engineering team near Wakefield. This is a key leadership role within a high‑volume production environment, offering long‑term stability and the opportunity to lead and develop a skilled electrical maintenance team.

The Electrical Maintenance Team Lead will be responsible for coordinating and supporting a small team of electrical engineers while remaining actively involved in day‑to‑day maintenance activities. The role focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

• Lead and coordinate electrical maintenance engineers delivering planned and reactive maintenance
• Carry out hands‑on electrical fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on plant and automated equipment
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental standards
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives to improve asset performance
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and skills development for team members
• Liaise with production and engineering teams to prioritise work and minimise operational impact
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS and ensure PPM schedules are achieved
• Participate in a 1-in-4 on‑call rota to support out‑of‑hours requirements

• Time‑served Electrical Engineer with relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent)
• Experience working in an electrical maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong hands‑on fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
• Previous experience leading or supervising engineers, or a clear desire to progress into a leadership role
• Good understanding of electrical safety, permit‑to‑work, and lockout/tagout systems
• Strong communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills
• Familiarity with CMMS systems is advantageous
