The energy transition needs people who can make the numbers work.

Commercial transport is one of the hardest parts of the energy transition challenge. It’s complex, fragmented, and moving fast, and the infrastructure to support it barely exists yet. That’s exactly why we’re building it at Aegis Energy.

Aegis Energy is developing a network of 50+ clean energy hubs across the UK, giving truck and van fleets genuine, practical access to electric charging, hydrogen, HVO and bio-CNG. We’re not waiting for the transition to happen. We focus on meeting the demands of the commercial vehicle sector.

We’re looking for an exceptional graduate to join our Finance team — someone numerate, curious and organised, ready to build a career in finance and do work that genuinely matters from day one.

About the role

This is a Graduate Analyst role, at entry level, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. It is a development role for a recent graduate looking to build a career in finance and accounting, giving you a direct line of sight into how a fast-growing company is run.

You will spend time on the overall general finance function rather than sitting in a single niche. On any given week you might be supporting the month‑end close, maintaining budget trackers for our hub sites, helping with a grant claim, or improving how our finance systems talk to each other. You’ll start as a Trainee and progress into a Finance Assistant, taking on greater ownership of recurring deliverables over time.

You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager and gain visibility across the business, including engineering, development, operations and commercial teams who deliver our hub sites, giving you an unusual vista on how priorities are set and how capital is allocated. You’ll be expected to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and good judgement.

You will join us alongside our incoming graduate cohort and take part in the same structured training programme and development plan. Whilst not a rotational programme, you’ll be embedded in the Finance team and gain exposure to engineering, development, operations, business development and commercial teams.

Some examples of initiatives that you’ll be working on
  • Month-end & reporting: support the month‑end close, including preparing and posting journals (accruals, prepayments, payroll, depreciation) in Net Suite, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and helping prepare monthly management reporting and supporting schedules.
  • Budgeting & site/project tracking: maintain budget‑versus‑actual trackers for our planned hub sites and departments, build monthly tracking workbooks from Net Suite exports, monitor open purchase orders and committed spend, and help flag variances against budget.
  • Systems & integration: help develop and maintain our finance systems landscape – supporting Net Suite ERP configuration and integrations, connecting and automating data flows between Net Suite and other tools (e.g. payroll, banking and reporting systems), building and testing automated workflows, and improving the reliability of our finance data pipelines.
  • Grants & innovation funding: assist with grant claim preparation and reconciling innovation income against claims and GL codes (e.g. Innovate UK–funded projects), and help track milestones, claims and reporting against awarded funding.
  • Audit & compliance: help compile audit support schedules, respond to auditor sample requests, and maintain accurate, well‑organised, version‑controlled working papers.
  • Tax support: provide supporting analysis for corporate tax, VAT and other compliance work streams.
  • AI & ways of working: identify and adopt AI tools, automations and improvements that make the…
