Operational Events Planner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hardworking Individual to join the Force Planning unit to undertake the role of an Operational Events Planner in a Full Time Position.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, resource, and co-ordinate the policing of operational and sporting events.
  • Liaise and communicate on a regular basis with external event/protest organisers and police commanders (pre, during and post event) to identify specific requirements that need to be considered in the planning/running and debrief of events/protest.
  • Aknowledge of the National Decision Making (NDM) model, identifying intelligence gaps, appropriate legislation, and resources to support the police in fulfilling its core responsibilities at events.
  • To attend Safety Advisory Groups as a representative of West Yorkshire Police to provide suitable advice and guidance relating to Public Order Public Safety (POPS) matters.

  • Able to produce concise reports or other documents.
  • Able to appropriately prioritise and plan own work.
  • Able to proactively develop effective working relationships with colleagues, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Have knowledge of planning and working large events.
Qualifications
  • Full UK Driving license

The role is based at Jubilee House, Carr Gate with the occasional requirement to travel for business purposes. The successful applicant will need to be prepared to work flexibly and be part of a rota covering 24/7 on‑call responsibilities.
