Environmental Health Officer

Join us in helping to create healthier,saferand more vibrant communities across the Wakefield district.

We are looking for an enthusiastic
Environmental Health Officer(EHO),Unregistered EHO or StudentEHO
to join our busy and supportive Community Protection Team.

This is adiverseand challenging role where no two days are the same, investigating nuisance and public health issues including noise, dust, odour, smoke,pest infestations and many more. Using a combination of advice,education and enforcement powers,you'llhelp protect residents and businesses across the Wakefield district.

Whatyou'lldo:
  • Investigate environmental health complaints and public health concerns.
  • Carry out inspections, monitoring and evidence gathering.
  • Provide advice and guidance to residents and businesses.
  • Undertake enforcement activities, including serving notices, executing warrants and seizures where required.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Respond to customer enquiries within service and statutory timescales.
Essential requirements:
  • Accredited BSc or MSc in Environmental Health (or equivalent relevant qualification) for Senior EHO, EHO and Unregistered EHO applicants.
  • Third or final-year Environmental Health students are encouraged to apply for Student EHO roles.
  • Full UK Category B Driving Licence.
  • Excellent customer care and communication skills.
  • A self-motivated individual with a positive, can-do attitude.
