Overview

Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust sits two PFI hospitals in Wakefield and Pontefract, which opened in 2011. Alongside the excellent modern hospital in Dewsbury, these fantastic new buildings have transformed local patient care and improved service delivery. In addition, we now have a Community Diagnostic Centre based in Wakefield, offering a number of diagnostic imaging investigations closer to home.

As an autonomous practitioner within the multidisciplinary team, you will undertake high quality radiography, interpreting MSK, chest and abdominal images and inputting findings into the further management of patients. Based at a specific base site, while rotating across the other Trust sites, the advanced practitioner will work with the consultant radiographer to provide leadership in general radiography and be responsible for your clinical work and professional development.

A 7‑day reporting service is already in operation at MY Trust and the post holder will be expected to contribute to the running of this service.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality radiography and report MSK, chest and abdominal images.
  • Lead general radiography services in collaboration with the consultant radiographer.
  • Contribute to the 7‑day reporting service and maintain reporting standards.
  • Support service developments and the advancement of staff skills.
  • Conduct reflective practice and evaluate outcomes.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in line with the Trust dress code.
  • Uphold Trust values and behaviours, acting with integrity and responsibility.
  • Build and maintain professional and courteous working relationships with staff.
  • Respect equality, diversity, privacy and dignity of the client group at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
  • High clinical and reporting standards in MSK and visceral imaging.
  • Strong leadership qualities and experience in teaching and education.
  • Ability to deliver high quality service during periods of significant change within the NHS.
