One part-time (18.5 hours per week) Permanent Position

West Yorkshire Police is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Employee Relations Policy and Process Improvement Consultant to join our Employee Relations team within the People Directorate. This post plays an important role in developing and maintaining an up to date and effective suite of ER policies for the organisation.
As an Employee Relations Consultant (Policy & Process Improvement), you will:
- Develop and maintain a range of people policies and supporting toolkits that are compliant with relevant legislation, including management guidance.
- Develop innovative processes and procedures that support continuous improvement in key areas such as effective sickness management processes and limited duties procedures.
- Develop and implement change management strategies, communication plans, and risk mitigation approaches.
- Contribute to effective negotiation and consultation in relation to allocated work with Trade Unions and Staff Associations, participating in formal consultation and informal meetings as required
- Support the provision of high quality people reports and papers for senior leaders to achieve effective knowledge and decision-making throughout the Force.
- Proactively analyse and report on HR management information to identify areas for deployment and provide expert support and advice in addressing areas for improvement.
- Provide training, coaching and briefings to colleagues in the People Directorate, managers, officers and staff across the Force in relation to people policies, processes, legislation and case law.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- CIPD qualified to level 5 or working towards, and/or demonstrable experience.
- Proven experience of working within a HR function and a proven ability in applying employment legislation and advising managers on a diverse range of ER issues.
- Previous experience of report writing with the ability to interpret and present management information.
- Experience of policy design/development or similar experience.
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
- Previous experience of providing people related advice and guidance to line managers/customers.
