Depot Foreman (Engineer)

The Role
As a Depot Foreman (Engineer), you will act as the key link between the office and the engineering team, supporting the Depot Manager in the day-to-day running of a busy depot. This is a predominantly yard-based role with occasional field-based work as required.
Key responsibilities include:
Overseeing all engineering and yard staff on a daily basis
Ensuring equipment is prepared to company and legal standards
Liaising with customers to resolve breakdowns and diagnose faults
Managing engineers’ daily workloads and allocating weekly service runs
Coordinating with suppliers when required
Maintaining workable stock levels of spare parts and filters
Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety regulations
Working closely with other depots within the group
Participating in an on-call rota providing out-of-hours support
Supporting evening and weekend cover when required
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a well-organised and proactive individual with strong leadership capability and solid technical knowledge.
You will:
Have a minimum of 3 years’ generator experience and knowledge
Ideally have previous Foreman experience, preferably within the hire industry
Be confident managing and supervising engineers, drivers, and subcontractors
Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and sound judgement
Be able to prioritise workload in a fast-paced depot environment
Hold a full UK driving licence (minimum 3 years)
Ideally hold a forklift licence (training can be provided)
Be able to work both independently and as part of a team
Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Be committed to delivering excellent customer service
