MOT Tester - VW

As an MOT Tester working at VW Wakefield, you will ensure that all MOTs and tyre fittings, along with maintenance work, are completed to exemplary standards on a diverse range of models within this market‑leading brand. You will work as part of a team striving to create the Best Place to Shop for our customers.

• Accurately and skillfully undertake the MOT of motor vehicles, ensuring that every job meets the required standards, including the completion of any administrative processes.
• Complete detailed reports and documentation of each vehicle, including any identified defects or failures, and record the results accurately. Communicate the results to the customers or the Service team.
• Evaluate vehicles against specific criteria such as structural integrity, emission levels, lighting, brakes, steering, suspension and other safety‑related components.
• Follow standardised test procedures and protocols to carry out MOT tests accurately and efficiently.
• Assess the condition of every vehicle worked on and, where necessary, report and document all additional work required on both systems and job cards.
• Where applicable, fully explain to customers what is required for a technical repair using language that the customer fully understands.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with company, brand and industry guidelines.

• Previous experience as a qualified nominated MOT tester qualified by the DVSA is essential.
• Brand accreditation would be beneficial but not essential, as brand training will be provided. We encourage candidates from all brand backgrounds to apply for the role.

• A driving licence free from excessive penalties is essential.
