The Opportunity
We’re recruiting for a Raw Materials Co-ordinator to join a fast-paced food manufacturing business in Pontefract. This is an exciting time to join the company – the site has recently been acquired by a global food group with nearly 70 factories worldwide, bringing significant investment and a full factory refurbishment programme.
This role offers genuine progression, with the potential to develop into a Technical Manager position within 2–3 years for the right person.
The Role
This is a hands-on, highly visible role within a busy factory environment. You’ll take ownership of raw material approval, compliance, and coordination, ensuring materials meet technical, safety, and quality standards before entering production.
You’ll need to be quick-thinking, highly organised, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving manufacturing setting.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing raw material specifications and approvals
* Liaising with suppliers to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
* Coordinating internal departments (Technical, QA, Production, Planning, Procurement)
* Ensuring documentation and systems are accurate and audit-ready
* Supporting supplier performance management
* Assisting with audits and customer requirements
* Driving continuous improvement within raw material processes
About You
This role requires a food manufacturing background – this is essential.
It would be ideal for:
* A QA Technician ready to step up
* A QC Supervisor looking for broader technical exposure
* A Specifications Technologist wanting a more factory-facing role
We’re looking for someone who is:
* Energetic and proactive
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Agile and able to thrive in a busy factory environment
* A confident communicator with both internal teams and external suppliers
* Ambitious and keen to progress into a senior technical role
Why Join?
* Salary circa £37,500
* Monday–Friday working pattern
* Clear progression pathway to Technical Manager
* Major investment and site refurbishment underway
* Backed by a global food group with significant long-term growth plans
* Opportunity to make a real impact during an exciting transformation phase
If you’re looking for the next step in your food manufacturing technical career and want real progression within a growing, investing business, we’d love to hear from you
