The company manages print runs of all lengths for a diverse client base that includes leading online and high street retailers, print management companies, and financial sector organizations. PMWEB Print produces a wide range of materials such as leaflets, flyers, brochures, and magazines, and works closely with its sister company Web Print DM to offer extensive direct mail services.

The team is known for strong customer service, supporting clients from initial concept through to final delivery.

Role Description

The Folding Operator is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Wakefield. In this role, the individual will set up, operate, and monitor folding machines to process printed materials including leaflets, brochures, magazines, and other print products according to job specifications. Day‑to‑day tasks include adjusting machine settings, performing basic maintenance, monitoring quality throughout the run, and ensuring accurate folding, stacking, and bundling for downstream finishing or dispatch.

The Folding Operator will follow production schedules, complete job tickets, work closely with press and finishing teams, and adhere to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards on the production floor.

Qualifications
  • Experience operating industrial folding or finishing equipment in a print or manufacturing environment, with strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret job tickets, work orders, and production specifications, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of basic quality control practices, including visual inspection of print quality, alignment, and fold accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills to manage multiple jobs and meet production deadlines.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, including safe operation of machinery and adherence to health and safety procedures.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with print, finishing and dispatch teams.
  • Willingness to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods and handling bundles of printed materials.
  • Previous experience in commercial print, packaging, or a related production environment is advantageous.
  • Secondary education or equivalent experience; technical or vocational training in print or mechanical operations is a plus.
