General overview

To work with the Digital Marketing and eCommerce Manager to support the development, implementation, tracking and optimisation of the search marketing channel strategies, aligned to the business and marketing objectives. Ultimately, to contribute to increasing sales and revenue (primarily for the education market) and increase the quality and quantity of leads (across Public Sector).

The role will work closely with the wider Marketing and E-commerce team to drive digital innovation and solutions for customers.

As a subject matter expert, the role will be responsible for supporting and delivering all aspects of digital marketing, specifically across Search Engine Optimisation, Pay-per-Click (PPC), Paid Social, and Content Marketing through website enhancements and digital content creation aimed at a varying customer base and across multiple sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures the successful delivery of the search marketing channel strategies and associated operational campaign plans, guided by data and insight.
  • Supports the sector Campaign Managers and wider marketing team on seasonal campaigns and tactical-based promotions – ensuring actions are optimal for agreed channels of promotion and the website is merchandised appropriately.
  • Creates content for a full mix of digital platforms and ensuring content is on brand.
  • Adopts a continuous learning approach - keeps up to date with latest industry trends, insights, training and development opportunities appropriate to maintaining and developing professional service standards.
  • Builds and coordinates effective relationships with key stakeholders in the business.
  • Line manages one full-time and one apprenticeship role, supporting growth in team members’ knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Works with the Marketing & eCommerce manager and wider management teams (where appropriate) to guide the digital marketing strategy in line with the business’s established digital KPIs and budgets.
  • Monitors internal and external digital trends and technologies to continually improve our digital marketing programs and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Ownership of developing the internal Digital Marketing team SharePoint site for respective channels by building and showcasing case studies, making strategies and plans visible and showcasing the latest industry insights to generate new ideas
  • Support the implementation of the social media strategy, performance and content plan across all channels to ensure regular, interesting, relevant and useful information is shared to the target business markets at the right time.
  • Regularly reviews performance across all channels and proactively reports progress, risks and new requirements upwards to the Head of Marketing, SLT and Digital Board.
Pay-per-Click (PPC)
  • Manage and nurture third party agency partnerships (where relevant) to grow and optimise channel performance and delivery (to agreed budgets)
  • Review and support with Pay-per-Click (PPC) campaigns across all channels, creating and implementing ads when necessary.
Paid Social
  • Embed and grow the Paid Social channel internally, identifying and managing any associated risks
  • Supports upskill and development of own knowledge of the channel to remain an expert in field
  • Ensure any paid social ads from the team are reviewed and approved to ensure effectiveness, consistency, tone of voice and brand guidelines.
