About the role
The Children's Regional Burns Unit at Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust, based at Pinderfields Hospital, is a regional centre of excellence and a key part of the Northern Burn Care Network.
Our specialist unit has five inpatient beds and receives referrals from across Yorkshire, the Humber and North Lincolnshire to provide expert care for children with significant burn injuries. Alongside our inpatient service, we run a busy outpatient clinic that provides ongoing wound care for approximately 800 children each year. The department also accepts referrals for paediatric plastic surgery patients, offering a varied and rewarding clinical environment.
Due to internal promotion, we are looking to recruit enthusiastic and compassionate Band 5 Registered Children's Nurses to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop specialist skills in burns and plastic surgery while working within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team committed to delivering family‑centred, evidence‑based care.
As part of our supportive and friendly team, you will care for both inpatients and outpatients, helping children and their families throughout their treatment and recovery. We are passionate about delivering the highest standards of care inline with the British Burn Association National Standards for Provision and Outcomes in Adult and Paediatric Burn Care, (2023) and are equally committed to supporting the development of our staff.
Whether you are newly qualified or looking for a new challenge, you will receive a comprehensive induction and competency‑based training package to help you build confidence and expertise in this unique specialty. If you are motivated to make a real difference to children and families while developing your career in a specialist service, we would love to hear from you.
