Role OverviewDuty Manager (SPAR) at Outwood store. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will support the Store Manager in leading and motivating a team of colleagues, ensuring excellent customer service, and contributing to the achievement of store sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Store Manager to ensure a safe, legal and high performing store, taking overall responsibility during Duty Manager shifts.
- Assist the Store Manager in delivering all store operations, objectives and KPIs.
- Manage, coach and support colleagues, developing a motivated and empowered team through a positive, engaging management style.
- Carry out performance management and absence management as appropriate.
- Take responsibility for occasional opening/closing of the store, colleague safety and stock/cash security during shifts.
- Carry out cash reconciliations, voids and refunds and other management tasks for till colleagues.
- Model outstanding customer service and lead the team to provide an exceptional experience.
- Promote the store in the local community, identifying and acting on engagement opportunities.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures and processes.
- Previous management or supervisory experience in a fast‑paced retail operation.
- Committed to achieving and sustaining exceptional customer service standards.
- Excellent planning, organisation and prioritisation abilities.
- Strong communication and influence skills at all levels.
- Decision‑making capacity and ability to take appropriate action.
- Commitment to promoting collaborative working.
- Positive, enthusiastic and flexible attitude.
- Willingness to develop own skills and apply learning to improve performance.
