- Experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of pharmacy or medical terminology, abbreviations, and symbols.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to use web-based tools and basic software systems.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and customer service.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
- Experience with automated dispensing machines preferred.
- Hospice or palliative care experience preferred.
IPU Technicians ensure hospice inpatient units always have the medications required for comfort, symptom control, and high-quality patient care. Their accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail directly affect patient safety and the smooth operation of pharmacy and hospice teams. By keeping dispensing machines fully stocked, organized, and compliant, they help deliver uninterrupted, dignified care to patients and meaningful support to clinical staff.
