Vesta, Inc. is a not‑for‑profit mental health company expanding throughout Maryland, providing comprehensive behavioral healthcare through clinics, day programs, and residential homes. Vesta is currently seeking a full‑time Property Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance team and assist with the total maintenance of all housing residences and offices across Maryland. Travel between Lanham, Odenton, Forestville, and Waldorf will be required.
Hours are Monday through Friday, with some weekends as emergencies arise.
The position requires a valid driver's license, clear driving record, and background check. Use of a personal vehicle is required, with mileage reimbursement.
Essential Functions- Knowledge of maintenance techniques and standards, including the use of rental equipment and specialty tools.
- 2 years of experience in maintenance operations, including general building maintenance, carpentry, electrical diagnostics and repair, drywall repair and finishing, heating and A/C system diagnostics and repair, plumbing, and other commercial/residential systems.
- Complete assigned work orders efficiently and inform the supervisor when the scope of work is outside their ability.
- Enter completed work orders into the system with all necessary supporting documentation.
- Ensure safety standards are used and comply with all company, local, city, state, regulatory, and federal guidelines.
Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities described; 2 years of building/property maintenance work experience.
Physical CapabilitiesCandidate must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, work with arms raised over head, stand/walk for long periods, climb stairs, bend at the waist and knees, and lift boxes, appliances, furniture, and snow shovels.
Compensation and Benefits- Pay Range: $25.01/hour – $28.01/hour, paid bi‑weekly, with opportunities for overtime. Salary calculated based on education and experience.
- Other Compensation: Bonuses (variable, depending on company and individual performance) and paid training.
- PTO: New employees can accrue up to 96 hours of PTO in the first year (prorated based on start date and hours worked). Employees can accrue up to 40 hours of sick leave per calendar year (prorated).
- Holidays: Full‑time employees receive 8 paid holidays per year; overtime paid if required. Part‑time employees eligible for overtime if required to work on holidays.
- Retirement: 403(b) plan participation available loyer matching after 1000 hours of service. Discretionary employer contributions at least once a year.
