As a Banking Service Professional, the Personal Banker will provide effective support of sales and service activities within the banking office. The role includes developing new business by educating clients and exemplifying Valley’s quality service standards. Services include a variety of banking solutions, routine transactions, and support for the Market Manager in achieving quality service and compliance.
Expected Work Hours40 hours, including Saturdays.
Job DescriptionResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide exceptional customer service in accordance with Valley’s mission statement.
- Educate and demonstrate bank products and services; cross‑sell when appropriate.
- Project a confident and professional demeanor to establish trust and understand customer needs.
- Meet with customers to analyze financial needs, maximize sales opportunities, open new accounts (checking, savings, CD, IRA), and discuss or sell loan products.
- Meet customer expectations, achieve service quality standards, and participate in sales referral processes.
- Perform all required customer transactions efficiently, maintain and balance a cash box, and operate teller scanning, cash recycling, cash dispensing, and coin machines.
- Act as Vault Teller, ensuring adequate branch cash and coordinating currency transfer.
- Assist with community events and participate in CRA initiatives.
- Report significant matters and maintain knowledge of compliance, regulatory requirements, and the Bank’s Code of Conduct.

- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient computer skills.
- High School diploma or GED and at least 1 year of business services experience in branch banking or completion of a Valley Retail training program.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, economics, or related field is preferred.
- FIS/IBS (Integrated Banking Solutions).
