Job Description
Plasma Center Nurse (Medical Support Specialist) at Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical.
About the roleSupport plasma collection operations by determining donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and ensuring safe donor and employee interactions under the guidance of the Plasma Center Manager and Center Physician.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) results.
- Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per standard operating procedures, including development of standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Consult with Center Physician or Medical Affairs on unacceptable findings or technical medical issues concerning donor safety and eligibility.
- Support employee vaccination programs for Hepatitis B and seasonal influenza.
- Manage employee incidents, assess the need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER, and refer to EHS guidance as appropriate.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS to investigate pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Current state licensure or certification; EMT-Paramedic license.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State-compliant basic IV therapy certification.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- At least two years of clinical or hospital experience.
