Materials Manager | Walker, MI
Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement materials planning and inventory control strategies.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure on-time delivery of materials.
- Oversee inventory levels to optimize stock and minimize carrying costs while supporting production.
- Lead and mentor the materials management team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Implement and optimize ERP/MRP systems for accurate material tracking and forecasting.
- Identify and drive cost reduction initiatives in materials procurement and logistics.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements for all materials.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in materials management, supply chain, or procurement leadership within a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for inventory control, production planning, and purchasing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of optimizing inventory levels and supply chain processes.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills to manage teams and foster supplier relationships.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and experience with Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for supply chain analytics.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- International supply chain experience, particularly with global sourcing and logistics.
