Metrology Technician | Walker, MI
Salary Range: $53,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities- Perform precise dimensional inspections using various metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, hand gauges).
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of measurement tools and equipment.
- Develop, program, and execute CMM inspection routines for complex parts.
- Analyze measurement data, identify trends, and provide reports to support quality decisions.
- Maintain accurate calibration records and manage the calibration schedule for all instruments.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve measurement discrepancies and improve part quality.
- Ensure all metrology activities comply with industry standards (e.g., ISO, AS9100) and internal quality procedures.
- Proficiency in operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other precision measurement equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, optical comparators).
- Strong understanding and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Experience with calibration procedures and maintaining measurement equipment accuracy in accordance with industry standards.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting measurement results, including the use of relevant metrology software.
- Experience with CMM programming (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)
- ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or GDTP Certification
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) software (e.g., Minitab, Q-DAS)
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
