Responsibilities:
- Support other apprentices, and foremen on various projects
- Follow instructions from foremen and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently
- Keep the job site clean and well-organized
- Handle the loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment
- Ensure attention to detail and follow safety standards
- Fuel and wash department vehicles
- Gain essential service and installation skills to progress within the department
- Assisting with the installation of piping systems
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ Pipe fitting experience
- Participate in our employer sponsored DOL Pipe fitting Apprenticeship
- Assisting Prep, Fab, Install, and fit pipe to spec
- Cut or bore holes in structures, such as bulkheads, decks, walls, or mains, prior to pipe installation, using hand or power tools
- Assisting with the installation of piping systems
- Tube bending/hand bending
- Pipe Grooving
- Ability to use Megapress to 4"
- Ability to use Propress to 4"
- Has basic welding, brazing, and soldering experience
- PVC prep and glue
- Assist with job layout
- Confined space entrant
- Confined space attendant/supervisor
- Fall protection
- Lockout tagout
Preferred Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of Plumbing & Mechanical Code
- Assisting in inspection of current existing systems
- Assist in selecting pipe sizes, types, or related materials, such as supports, or hangers according to specifications
- Hydraulic flaring
