Office Assistant 3 (OA3) in the Community Corrections Division, Spokane, WA. Full-time, permanent.

Work hours:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This is a position within the Spokane Special Needs Unit (SNU) located at 1717 W Broadway Ave, Spokane, WA 99201.

Salary: [DOC WFSE Monthly Salary Range 39: $3,630.00 to $4,833.00]

Description

The Mission of Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) is to improve public safety by positively changing lives. This position works under general supervision from the Administrative Assistant 3 (AA3) and performs duties involved with the reception desk and provides advanced clerical support tasks for the Spokane Special Needs Unit (SNU).

Responsibilities
  • Provide front desk reception, clerical support, and data entry.
  • Greet and direct clients, general public, and stakeholders to the appropriate staff.
  • Manage a multi-line phone system.
  • Receive equipment and supplies from vendors.
  • Manage and maintain electronic and physical files.
  • Database entry and retrieval from systems such as OMNI (Offender Management Network Information) and OnBase.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Six months of clerical experience that includes basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel).
Skills and Abilities
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to assist individuals with various criminal backgrounds.
  • Ability to navigate internal/external databases and various computer platforms and applications.
  • Ability to proofread written material and correct errors in grammar and punctuation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, supervised individuals, stakeholders, and the public.

Telework Details: This position may be allocated for telework for up to one day each week. If approved, work may be performed from home or another offsite location within Washington using internet or cellular hot spot.
