Administrative Assistant 3 (AA3)
Clallam Bay Corrections Center (CBCC) – Washington State Department of Corrections
Full‑time, Non‑Permanent Administrative Assistant 3 position at CBCC located on the Olympic Peninsula.
CBCC is a 900‑bed male correctional facility with medium and close custody. The Department seeks a highly motivated individual to perform administrative duties that support facility operations and policy compliance.
Responsibilities- Coordinate Operational Memorandum (OM) revisions with subject matter experts.
- Seek clarification from Headquarters (HQ) Policy Office during the revision process.
- Coordinate urgent OM revisions when facility policies change.
- Produce final draft and submit to HQ for approval.
- Update Emergency Management Cabinet information quarterly.
- Maintain monthly training rosters, member files for specialty teams.
- Track quarterly fire drills, monthly emergency management and functional drills.
- Provide audit reports.
- Create and update facility forms.
- Maintain site applications and permissions.
- Track tort claims and submit investigated claims to the Associate Superintendent of Operations and Security.
- Respond to incarcerated individuals’ messages related to Correctional Industries (CI) optical.
- Place incarcerated individuals on call‑out.
- Document and file Group Violence Reduction Strategy (GVRS) records.
- Provide administrative support to the Associate Superintendent of Operations.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Three years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work.
- Formal education may be substituted for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Applicants must submit a resume, cover letter, and a minimum of three professional references.

- A criminal background check will be conducted prior to hire.
- The work environment may involve direct contact with incarcerated individuals; applicants should consider this before applying.
- A pre‑employment drug test may be required.
- Applicants with sensitivities or allergies to pepper spray (Oleoresin Capsicum) or animal programs should inquire about exposure levels.
- TB baseline skin test may be required within 60 days of hire.
