WWCC offers part‑time adjunct faculty positions for the 2025‑2026 academic year in the Business Management program with a concentration in Entrepreneurship, located at Coyote Ridge Corrections Center in Connell, WA.

Overview

WWCC invites applicants to join a continuous pool of adjunct faculty to teach Business courses across all campuses, including Walla Walla, Clarkston, Washington State Penitentiary, Coyote Ridge Corrections Center, and online. Positions are part‑time, temporary, and offer flexible hours.

Responsibilities
  • Check emails and inbox on days classes are taught.
  • Interact with those in custody and/or the public according to expected guidelines; treat students, incarcerated staff, staff, and co‑workers with dignity and respect.
  • Recognize the value of cultural, ethnic, gender, and other individual differences in people.
  • Build constructive working relationships characterized by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect.
  • Develop accurate standards to measure learning and administer testing (or other evaluations) to determine effectiveness and ensure a high level of comprehension has been achieved.
  • Hold students accountable and ensure classrooms are conducted in a manner suitable to all students.
  • Track students and inform supervisor if students miss more than three classes via email.
  • Effectively combine an array of methods to enhance understanding, including demonstrations, lectures, group discussions and activities, individual activities, etc.
  • Be flexible when deciding which teaching methods best serve the student's needs, interests, and ability to learn. Adjust instructional methods and delivery to meet institutional and student needs.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related discipline required to instruct college‑level courses.
  • Experience working for a company utilizing the course skills.
  • Experience as an on‑the‑job trainer, teacher, and/or doing curriculum development desired, but not required.
  • Must be available to teach on‑site, face‑to‑face classes, in Connell, Washington.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree in a related discipline required to instruct college‑level courses.
  • Experience working in a corrections environment.
Compensation

Compensation for an adjunct assistant professor is contingent on enrollment and paid according to the contract between WWCC Board of Trustees and the WWCC Association for Higher Education. See Appendix C for the adjunct salary schedule.

Conditions / Terms of Employment

This is a part‑time instruction assignment contingent on enrollment inside the Coyote Ridge Corrections Center, an adult male prison. The position interacts daily with students, instructors, counselors, DOC, and WWCC staff. Successful candidates must be able to travel between buildings with or without accommodations.
