DSHS Lakeland Village Psychology Associate
Lakeland Village Residential Habilitation Center, operated by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), Behavioral Health and Habilitation Administration (BHHA) is seeking a dedicated Psychology Associate to join our Psychology Department.
As a Psychology Associate, you will work with individuals diagnosed with developmental/intellectual disabilities who are receiving services in a Nursing Facility or Intermediate Care Facility at Lakeland Residential Habilitation Center.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals diagnosed with developmental/intellectual disabilities.
Additional Information- Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
- This is not a remote position; the person must be in-office Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Assess, implement, monitor and professionally supervise formal/informal behavior programs/interventions to address identified behavior needs for developmentally disabled and dually diagnosed individuals residing with a Program Area Team (PAT) to maximize adaptive and appropriate behaviors and minimize the frequency and intensity of maladaptive behaviors.
- Assess, develop, implement, monitor and professionally supervise formal/informal behavior intake programs/interventions to address identified behavior needs for individuals being referred for respite/diversion services.
- Serve as a role model and trainer for the provision of habilitation services using specialized techniques as graduated guidance and approved physical interventions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A master’s degree in psychology from an accredited school or department of psychology.
- Two years post-masters degree experience in the field of psychology supervised by a Masters or Doctoral level clinician.
- Meet the professional requirements of a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP). This qualification includes at least 1 year of direct experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
- A current Agency Affiliated Counselor or higher credential from the Washington State Department of Health.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation.
- Ability to work with challenging residents in a calm, therapeutic, and non-threatening manner.
