Job Summary: If you’re invested in public service and enjoy assisting others in a fast‑paced, client‑facing setting, this role is critical within the Washington Corrections Center Human Resources team. The incumbent will interpret HR rules, CBA, policies, and regulations to support multiple HR disciplines.
Responsibilities- Perform classification, recruitment, and selection consultation and processing, including reviewing position descriptions, coordinating recruitments, and advising managers.
- Provide first‑level HR consultation, including advising on CBA, federal law, WACs, RCWs, DOC and facility policies.
- Advise on low‑level employee conduct issues and employee‑related legal matters such as Reasonable Accommodation, FML, and disability separations.
- Input and monitor personnel actions, maintain electronic and physical files, process PDPs and position descriptions.
- Administer the CBA Bid System and other HR systems as required.
- Other duties as assigned and necessary.
Required:
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Four years of office experience, including at least one year in HR or related setting.
- Or Associate degree (or equivalent) plus senior level office support/administrative experience.
- Competency in consulting, problem solving, research, analysis.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or HR.
- Professional certification (S/PHR, IMPA‑HR).
- Experience with NEOGOV or HRMS.
