Work Source Specialist 4-JBLM
Full‑time, permanent position located at 11577 41st Division Drive, JBLM, WA 98438.

Responsibilities- Facilitate orientations and career services workshops in the Resource Room and hold one‑on‑one meetings with job seekers to assess readiness and employability.
- Engage job seekers by offering access to the full array of services available through the Work Source system to develop skills and secure employment.
- Regularly meet with customers to determine the best fit services and assess their employment‑search status.
- Listen, empathize, and adapt communication to build trusting relationships with customers who face barriers.
- Conduct individual appointments to explain program services, requirements, and activities.
- Review customers’ skills, determine training needs, and enroll them in suitable training programs.
- Manage caseload, provide case management, facilitate support services, and make referrals.
- Identify barriers, explore solutions, and assist with obtaining necessary documentation.
- Conduct outreach activities to recruit customers into services.
- Determine eligibility, enroll participants, and explain program participation requirements.
- Develop individual employment service plans and guide customers to use training and employment programs.
- Support customers to find and retain employment through ongoing follow‑up services.
- Participate in a performance‑based program, achieving goals that motivate training and education completion.
- Option 1:
One (1) year as a Work Source Specialist 3 or equivalent in the Employment Security Department or another state’s agency. - Option 2:
Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of relevant experience in workforce development, social or human resource services, public relations, or public contact work. - Option 3:
Combination of education and/or experience totaling at least seven (7) years. - Master’s degree will substitute for one year of required experience.
- Must pass a background check and obtain a JBLM base access card.
- Must pass Unemployment Insurance (UI) claim benefit and Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML) claim and fraud check review.
- Ability to take action to learn and grow.
- Ability to meet the needs of others.
- Needs assessment, case management, problem‑solving, and communication to guide and support clients.
- Client motivation, career planning, and coaching to encourage workforce engagement.
- Stakeholder engagement and workforce program improvement to structure service enhancements.
