IT Application Development – Entry
Division: Information Services Division
Location: Tumwater, WA
The Attorney General’s Office is recruiting for a permanent full‑time IT Application Development – Entry role in the Information Services Division. The position is not union‑represented.
Responsibilities- Use agile development methodology, innovation, and creativity to complete assignments.
- Perform analysis, development, quality assurance, testing, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for division‑specific and agency‑wide custom developed applications, off‑the‑shelf software customizations, and system integrations.
- Provide software application development for performance metric tracking applications and approval workflows.
- Provide troubleshooting and bug fixes for custom developed solutions.
- Develop dashboard / reporting platforms and associated Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.
- Perform testing and quality assurance for custom developed solutions.
- Option 1:
Six (6) years of professional experience in database administration, data analytics, dashboard development, software development, installation, or maintenance of computer software applications that use databases. - Option 2:
Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, and at least four (4) years of experience in the same areas. - Option 3:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, and at least two (2) years of experience in the same areas.
- At least one year of demonstrated experience developing applications using at least two of the following:
- ASP.NET or MVC, C#
- JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Microsoft .NET Framework Libraries (4.0 or above)
- SQL and Transact‑SQL
- Microsoft Visual Studio or equivalent
- SQL Server Management Studio or equivalent
- Version Control Software (Team Foundation Server or equivalent)
- Dashboard development (Tableau, Power BI)
- Desired recent experience:
- Agile software development methodologies
- Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX)
- jQuery
- MVC
- .NET Desktop Applications
- NHibernate, Entity Framework, or equivalent
- Telerik
- ORM, Rad Grid for ASP.NET AJAX
- Web Services – ASP.NET Web API, XML Web Services
- Microsoft SQL Server
- SQL Reporting Services (SSRS)
- ETL Technologies
